Furniture Linings

Where leather linings are damaged, we can often restore and refinish the original leather to remove evidence of scratches, tears and burns. Alternatively, a new lining can be tooled using hand-dyed skivers and hides, decorated with gold leaf, using traditional tools and patterns.

Velvet, suede and silk inlays are often found as a luxurious lining to cabinets. Utilising specialist textile restoration and conservation skills we successfully clean the lining. If damage is too extensive, we re-line the piece with new material.

Felt cloth and baize linings, commonly used for snooker or pool tables, card tables and notice boards can be replaced in a variety of colours.

Glass and mirrors are often incorporated in furniture as a decorative and functional feature. We can replace broken glass and mirrors, cut and finished to match the original piece. Other linings include brass, stone, glass, ivory, mother of pearl and ceramics.

Years of expertise have led us to develop specialist techniques, enabling us to undertake many different types of restoration
