Specialist Services

As well as our core services in the conservation and restoration of historic and modern properties, furnishings, artworks and collectables, our wealth of knowledge and expertise across various materials and crafts allows us to offer a range of additional, specialist services.

Alongside entrusting us with reviving treasured possessions, our clients rely on us to provide accurate valuations, effective cataloguing, safe transport, and protective storage for their items, among many other things.

In general, our additional specialist services fall into two categories. These are:

Evaluation & Risk Management

For owners and stakeholders of fine art and furniture collections, nothing is more important than protecting the value of their investment, whether that value is monetary or largely sentimental, representing a personal attachment to a collection that has been lovingly compiled over a long period of time.

At Farcroft Restorations Group, our evaluation and risk management services include cataloguing, valuations, conservation assessments and risk management planning.

Throughout all our work across these services, we aim to provide owners and collectors with peace of mind, assuring them that their treasured possessions are in the safest possible hands and that we will not let them down when they need us most in the event of disaster threatening their investment.

Specialist Logistics & Fine Art Handling

Our handling and logistics specialists work with a level of care and attention to detail that has come to characterise the Farcroft name.

Our services in this area encompass the effective packaging, handling, transport and storage of fine art objects. Using custom boxes, supports and enclosures to protect unusually-shaped or fragile artworks, we enable valuable pieces to be moved safely, protected from the elements.

Where items are to be transported internationally, we can provide import solutions and temporary admissions permission for customs and VAT where required, and our additional services in this area also include assisting museums and galleries with the equipment and specialist resource needed to install individual artworks or entire collections.

Project Management

Where projects are particularly large or complex, requiring input from multiple stakeholders or co-ordination across many restoration disciplines, our project management team is able to plan and deliver an efficient schedule of works, taking care of everything from the point of project authorisation through to completion.

Our project managers act as the central point of communication between all the stakeholders involved in the project, whether that is insurers, policy holders and our restoration teams carrying out the works, or private clients and the local authority overseeing our work to ensure it adheres to listed building constraints. Whatever the requirement for stakeholder liaison, we focus on ensuring communication between parties is transparent and timely to ensure the smoothest possible running of the project.

Years of expertise have led us to develop specialist techniques, enabling us to undertake many different types of restoration
